Best Fighters Outside The UFC: Luke Riley

Luke Riley (10-0) is the UK’s fastest rising prospect after an electric 2024.  The Featherweight has stopped seven foes all with strikes.  The stand-up specialist walked off with a highlight reel KO last time out and looking to make a big jump in 2025.

Luke Riley was born in 1999 in Liverpool, England.  The proud Scouser still calls the same city home, training with Next Generation MMA alongside Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett and “Meatball” Molly McCann. Luke began kickboxing at age 9 and took his first fight (against another kid don’t worry) the same year.  Coached by former kickboxing European champion Darren O’Connor, Riley’s skills looked promising from the start.

Growing up Luke expanded his horizons, training Muay Thai and boxing and even travelling to Thailand to learn from straight from the source.  When he returned from his travels he began training at Gemini Boxing club in his hometown.  While striking was his first love, Riley began to ponder a move to MMA.  Next Generation took him in with open arms and he has not looked back.

Across fourteen amateur and pro MMA fights, Luke Riley is undefeated with 9 KO/TKO’s.  he started his career at 135 lbs. but following fight number 3 he moved up ten pounds permanently to Featherweight.  Yet to get a submission on his resume but his defensive ground game is definitely not lacking.  Luke was scheduled to fight on the 2024 Dana White’s Contender Series but Visa issues got in the way.

Luke Riley | 10-0 | 5’9 145 lbs. | Age 25 | Reach N/A | Orthodox Stance | Fighting Out of Liverpool, England
