Paul Hughes is the current Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion, already setting sights on a second belt. The talented martial artist has finished seven of ten opponents and his only loss was a controversial split decision. The only thing uncertain about his future is how high he can climb the Cage Warriors ranks before the UFC comes calling… Paul was born in Sydney, Australia in 1996. He represents The Republic of Ireland but calls Belfast, Northern Ireland home currently. “Big News jumped right up to one of Europe’s biggest stages with Cage Warriors in just his third pro fight. After his pro debut, he broke the same hand four times in just twelve months. Doctors told him he might be best suited to look for another career path not involving any fisticuffs. Instead, Paul persevered and got healthy. Hughes hasn’t looked back since suffering his only career loss, a split decision to former Featherweight Cage Warriors champ Jordan Vucenich. Since then, he has avenged that defeat and stolen the belt from Vucenich’s hands. He is already on the path to the Lightweight belt with one impressive win under his belt ten pounds up.
