Best Fighters Outside The UFC: Ben Tynan

Ben Tynan (6-0) has never seen the judge’s scorecards over 13 amateur and pro fights.  The wrestler has four round-one finishes in the pro ranks, three are KO or TKO’s.  “Vanilla Thunder” is currently a heavyweight in ONE Championship and is looking to give ONE’s best fighter, three-division champion Anatoly Malykhin a run for his money.

Tynan was born in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada in 1994.  A city of around 66,000 people located in the far north of Alberta, a four-hour drive from Edmonton.  Ben grew up wrestling and was a Canadian junior wrestling national champion.  After high school, he moved to America to attend North Dakota State for wrestling.

After college, Tynan expanded his martial arts game to amateur MMA in 2017.  Over four years, he fought to a 7-0 record winning all fights by finish inside two rounds.  In 2022, Ben made the jump to the professional ranks.  He won his first four fights in 13 months all by finish inside two rounds.  In 2023, he made the jump to ONE Championship, making the competition look unworthy.  He doesn’t have a fight on the horizon but an intriguing matchup looms with Malykhin in the future, if he doesn’t sign somewhere else first…
