Islam Omarov (15-0) is ACA MMA’s Featherweight champion. The 26-year-old has ten finishes in his career and has defended his belt once so far. The champ hasn’t been tested much by his opponents yet, and his excellent grappling makes him one to watch.
Islam was born in 1997 in Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia. Growing up in the wrestling-rich caucuses region of Russia pointed Islam’s interests towards martial arts from a young age. Islam still lives in the same city and has called Gorets Fight Club home since the start of his career. “T-34” began his professional MMA journey in 2018 and has not lost in six years, spanning fifteen fights.
Omarov challenged for the ACA MMA belt in 2023 and took it home to Makhachkala courtesy of a second-round ground and pound TKO. Currently, Islam has one defense of his title in 2024, another second-round stoppage but this time of the submission variety.
