Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir spent 2017 demolishing all competition, winning 3 UFC fights, 2 by first minute KO. This Swiss-born former pro kickboxer took his first Octagon fight on short notice against then 6th ranked Ovince St. Preux. Volkan impressively defeated OSP, a supremely tough matchup for first-timers, by split decision.

Oezdemir then faced Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa, ranked 7th and 3rd respectively. Volkan took “No Time” absolutely dominating both fighters en route to an opportunity to face the Champ Daniel Cormier. Volkan ultimately lost the Championship fight against DC by 2nd round TKO, but he had glimpses of success on the feet and showed why he belongs. Volkan just needs more time to round out his ground game.

Now training with the Blackzilians at American Top Team, Volkan started his pro career in 2010 training with pro kickboxers in The Netherlands, including the legend Alistair Overeem (Ubereem then). Oezdemir went 5-0 in kickboxing before transitioning to MMA, where he went 11-1 with 10 first round finishes.

Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir will look to get another early finish in his fifth UFC fight, against 10th ranked Anthony Smith. It all goes down October 27th at UFC Fight Night 138 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Volkan vs. Smith is the headliner and the main event starts at 10 PM ET on FS1.
