“Sugar” Sean O’Malley | 10-0 | 5’11 135 lbs. | Age 24 | Reach 72” | Switch Stance |
“The Sugar Show” has the sweet science in his game to be a champion in the UFC’s Bantamweight Division. At 5’11, he’s a giant at 135 lbs. and he uses his height and reach expertly to dominate on the feet in three fights in the octagon. O’Malley combines this with elite athleticism and a vastly creative striking arsenal to put together a potential championship pedigree.
Born in Helena, Montana, Sean O’Malley battled through 14 amateur fights (9-2) before grabbing that coveted roster spot in the UFC. Dana White offered him a guaranteed contract after he beat Alfred Kashakayan on a ruthless one punch, walk-off knockout.
After crushing Kashakayan, “The Sugar Show” stepped right into the real deal and promptly starched both Terrion Ware and Andre Soukamthath, winning two unanimous decisions. He dominated both fighters on the feet, however, couldn’t land the finishing blow. He faced adversity in the third round of his most recent fight against Soukamthath, breaking his foot on the side of his opponents head on a botched kick and was forced to fight the last round on one leg.
“The Sugar Show” doesn’t just bring the elite fighting acumen to the table; he’s got the fashion style to match “The Notorious One”. He’s also a natural in front of the media, never afraid to speak his mind. Unfortunately, O’Malley won’t be able to grace the same card as McGregor this weekend at UFC 229, flagged by USADA for a tainted supplement a week before fight night. According to O’Malley himself, this won’t be a major layoff because his camp has already identified the supplement that was wrongly tainted with USADA and they’re working to clear his name. Look for O’Malley to step back into the Octagon at the end of 2018.
