One to Watch at UFC Vegas 50: Javid Basharat

Javid Basharat (11-0) has finished every single fight dating back to amateur. He has a brother, Farid, who is also undefeated, and amazingly they fight on the exact same day March 12. “Ferocious” Farid looks for victory number 8 while “The Snow Leopard” debuts at UFC Vegas 50.

The Basharat brothers were born in The Paktia Province of Afghanistan. 26-year-old Javid was born in 1995 and grew up passionate about Tae Kwon Do. The family relocated to London, England and both brothers found prominent fight camp London Shootfighters in nearby Wembley. Basharat began his pro career in 2016 after one amateur guillotine choke and reeled off two wins in that year. He has spent his entire career at Bantamweight (135 lbs.) and captured two belts across Great Britain before answering his Contender Series call in 2021.

After being called a “Terrorist” by opponent Oron Kahlon (16-1) at their weigh-in staredown, Javid made him pay in the best way possible with a fantastic finish in round three courtesy of a guillotine choke. Official octagon debut comes five months later facing hot prospect with hot hands Trevin “5 Star” Jones (13-7) and it all goes down at 4 PM ET at UFC Vegas 50: Santos vs. Ankalaev.
