One to Watch at UFC Vegas 41: Grant Dawson

Grant Dawson (17-1) is already 5-0 in the UFC and is on the cusp of a ranking at Lightweight at UFC Vegas 41. The BJJ brown belt has dominated opponents far and wide, with 15 finishes over his 17 wins. Before the UFC, he stopped every bout before round three (12) and aims to add a fourth in the octagon on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was born in Cambria, Wisconsin in 1994, however, he spent most of his time growing up in Stromsburg, Nebraska. The 40-8 high school wrestler hadn’t been exposed to MMA until he watched Rampage vs. Rashad at a friend’s house in 2010. With James Krause and Glory MMA by his side, Grant made his amateur debut two years later. Including pro bouts, Dawson fought to a 20-1 record with 16 submissions.

Now Grant is 5-0 in the UFC and will be staring at six when he lines up Ricky “The Gladiator” Glenn (22-6-1) Saturday. Glenn comes into this fresh off a 37-second KO four months ago. UFC brass thinks highly of this fight, it’s the co-main event and the main card starts at 4 PM ET.
