Ludovit “Lajos” Klein (16-2) makes his octagon debut on two week’s notice on Fight Island at UFC 253. The first Slovak to fight in the UFC aims to push his win streak to eight versus Shane Young (13-4). Young, a Kiwi from City Kickboxing in Auckland, NZ, has energy behind him; three teammates including Champ Israel Adesanya are fighting on the same card. Klein will carry some momentum into the ring as well, MMA is popular in East Europe and many Slovak eyes will be on UFC 253 on Saturday.
Ludovit Klein is a featherweight fighting out Spartakus Fight Team of Trnava, Slovakia, a suburb 40 minutes outside of the capital Bratislava. “Lajos” began pro fighting at age 19 in 2014. He stumbled out of the gates in the amateur ranks to the tune of a 2-2 record. However, Klein then exploded at professional winning his first 6 contests by submission.
Ludovit conquered excellent competition while climbing through top European promotions, XFN and Oktagon. In 2017, him and his coaches at Spartakus must’ve switched his gameplan. Before then he won seven out of his first eight by tap. Since then, he finished six of his last seven by KO.
With lethal knockout power to go along with aggressive submission threats from bottom on the mat, Klein can attack opponents from everywhere. Shane Young is in for a tough test in “Lajos” at UFC 253 on Saturday, September 26.
