One to Watch at UFC Shenzhen: Khadis Ibragimov

Khadis Ibragimov (8-0) debuts at UFC Shenzhen, where he’ll aim to show off his world champion level combat sambo.  He delved into martial arts at a young age, starting with the Russian grappling discipline first.  Safe to say he was a natural, becoming a Russian, then European, then world champion.

Khadis was born in Dagestan but moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia to pursue fighting seriously.  He transitioned to MMA full time and began fighting in 2017.  Ibragimov linked up with Sambo-Piter Team and jumped out of the gates with four straight victories in one year.

Now turn to 2019 and we find Khadis still undefeated, and picking up steam…  He’s reeled off five straight finishes against some thoroughly impressive competition.  This recent renegade has earned the Dagestani a coveted UFC debut August 31st.  Ibragimov will battle fellow newcomer Da Un Jung (11-2) at UFC Shenzhen!
