Jiri “Denisa” Prochazka (26-3-1) is one of the top martial artists fighting outside the octagon. The wait is over, the former Rizin champ flies down to Fight Island for his long-awaited UFC debut. Jiri is a 6’4 205er with an 80“ reach, most see him as a rival to division mate Jon Jones down the line. “Denisa” uses the length advantage expertly, stopping 23 out of 26 wins by finish.
Prochazka was born and bred in Hosteradice, a suburb of city Brno in the south of The Czech Republic. He ventured into the concrete jungle and found gym Jetsaam Gym Brno. Starting his career in 2012, Jiri’s been with the same camp ever since. No amateur ranks to speak of, Prochazka learned his few losses at the pro level, jumping out to a 13-2-1 record.
The Czech Light Heavyweight flew to Japan in 2015 to fight for the acclaimed Rizin. Prochazka picked up a loss to King Mo during his first year but hasn’t looked back since, winning ten in a row and collecting the belt.
Jiri signed a contract early in 2020 now finally gets to grace the octagon. He faces Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir (17-4) in a truly intriguing matchup. Prochazka’s got a ton of tools to strike with and will get creative to keep Oezdemir on his toes. This bout makes the main event on the prelims at UFC 251!
