Askar “Bullet” Askarov (10-0) will be the next undefeated Dagestani great to grace the octagon at UFC Mexico. His debut officially marks the day Henry Cejudo brings back the Flyweight vision to the UFC brass. Askar is the first top prospect to inject new life into at 125 lbs. since Demetrious Johnson reigned atop the division.
Askar grew up in Khasvyurt, miles from the war-torn border between Dagestan and Cechnya. He was born completely deaf but astonishingly overcame those odds to fight at the highest levels in the world. He’s regained some hearing ability, but still about 80% gone, Askarov can never hear a word from his coaches during fights.
Truly amazing accomplishment to overcome these odds and find undefeated success in the fighting capital of the World, The Caucuses. Askar’s 100% finish rate doesn’t come often at 125, but his stoppages come from excellent grappling. Askarov has seven submissions to his name, four straight heading into UFC Mexico. He’s a fantastic chain wrestler who grinds opponents down and makes them tap late.
“Bullet” Askarov aims to take an 11th straight soul on 9/21 versus Brandon Moreno (15-5) south of the border at UFC Mexico!
Askar “Bullet” Askarov | 10-0 | 5’6 125 lbs. | Age 26 | Reach N/A | Orthodox Stance | Fighting Out of Khasavyurt, Dagestan, Russia
