Khasan Magomedsharipov (10-0) is a young Russian phenom following in his legendary brother’s footsteps. The 24-year-old emerged from Bellator MMA as one of their top draws. Khasan is already a fan favorite because he possesses skills just as flashy as his older brother.
Magomedsharipov was born in Saratov, Russia in 2000. Khasan is the younger brother of Zabit Magomedsharipov, UFC’s fabled Featherweight who retired while on the cusp of a championship. They grew up roughhousing on the streets of Russia and the Magomedsharipov parents were done with their hooliganism. Khasan and Zabit were then enrolled with Five Directions of the World martial arts boarding school to instill some discipline in them. The decision paid off tenfold. At age 15, Khasan won the Gold Medal in the 2016 Wushu Sanda European Championships. Zabit’s MMA prowess brought him to New Jersey to train under accomplished coach Mark Henry. Khasan was 17 and followed Zabit’s footsteps.
Zabit’s mystique of what could have been has MMA fans even more excited for Khasan. He has the MMA acumen to carry out what fans envisioned Zabit could have ultimately attained. Khasan possesses all the same flashy skills as his brother Zabit. Strikes of the spinning variety, acrobatic sambo throws, and wreaking havoc on any limb worth submitting. Before Bellator MMA folded in 2024, Khasan was emerging as one of the promotion’s top talents. With Bellator now owned by PFL and so many former fighters now in flux, the UFC would be smart to scoop up Khasan Magomedsharipov for their own 145 lb. division.
