Brianna “The Bull” Van Buren (9-2) can jump into the 115 lb. ranks with a win over #12 Tecia Torres Saturday, June 20, at UFC Vegas 3. Fighting out of AntDawg’s MMA and American Kickboxing Academy in Gilroy, California, Brianna is a talented prospect in UFC’s most stacked Women’s division. Van Buren debuted last July in Sacramento against previously unbeaten in the octagon Livinha Souza. She exploded onto the scene with a dominant decision over a respected veteran.
Brianna Van Buren hails from Gilroy High School where she wrestled on the Varsity team, now coached by UFC legend Daniel Cormier. Her wrestling pedigree carries over to the cage, slamming Strawweights with ease. Wrestling acumen must run through the water in The South Bay because “The Bull” demolished three women in one night to attain the Invicta 115 lb. belt.
Brianna currently rides a six-fight win streak into Saturday’s contest, the biggest bout of her career. She looks to have a favorable matchup against Torres, who can struggle against a takedown artist. Van Buren usually faces a height and reach disadvantage, but Torres equals her in length and has only one inch in height (5’1) over “The Bull”. She can jump onto the competitive Strawweight stage and get some hype on her name with a big win at UFC Vegas 3!
