The first week of July marks international Fight Week for the UFC and the Poles will definitely be in attendance in Sin City. Oskar “Lmadlo ” Piechota is the MMA pride of Poland with an undefeated record at 11-0-1 and four finishes inside the first minute of the first round.
With two fights under his belt in the UFC so far, the Polish Southpaw has shown off an impressive arsenal of MMA skills. Against Jonathan Wilson, Piechota took him down for the first time in his MMA career and almost finished him three separate times. The only respite for Wilson in that fight was the bell at the end of the round. That fight actually marked the first time Piechota went the distance aside from his lone draw in 2013.
Piechota fights this week at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale Friday, July 6th, the day before UFC 226 takes place. He squares off against Gerald Meerschaert who stands at 27-9 and hasn’t had a fight go to a decision since 2014. This matchup could be a fight of the year candidate based on the track records of these two fighters.
