One to Watch on The Contender Series Wk. 4: Lance Lawrence

Lance “The Tornado” Lawrence | 5-0 | 6’0 135 lbs. | Age 26 | Reach N/A | Orthodox Stance | Fighting Out of Shelbyville, Kentucky

Lance “The Tornado” Lawrence (5-0) brings a unique undefeated record to the fourth week of Dana White’s 2019 Contender Series. The six-foot-tall Featherweight fighting out of Shelbyville, Kentucky has finished four out of five fights by impressive early submissions. His wiry frame causes problems in grappling exchanges and he’s proven to need just a small opening to find your neck.

With only six years of MMA practice under his belt, Lawrence makes leaps in improvement every time he fights. A self-proclaimed “submission artist” but his hands are catching up to his mat skills quickly. He scored his first KO in his second fight, just thirty seconds in. Recently he’s faced quality boxers in David Bernas (2 Time Golden Gloves Champ) and Chris Dunn.

On Tuesday, July 16th, Lawrence faces Kevin Syler in possibly the most intriguing matchup of the night. The Bolivian Syler comes in at 8-0 with a Nation on his back. Late fireworks in July, someone’s perfect record is getting ruined!
