Mandy “Monster” Böhm (7-0) brings her undefeated striking skills to Sin City for a stiff test at UFC Vegas 37. The 32-year-old German has a Bellator win under her belt, plus a TKO MMA Flyweight title from Canada’s top promotion. The UFC brass knows her matchup could cause some fireworks on the feet; hence she gets a main card spot for UFC Vegas 37.
Mandy Böhm was born in 1989 in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. It’s a city of about 300,000 people in the western side of the country in between Dortmund and Düsseldorf. “Monster” began training MMA in her hometown, but quickly realized she needed training only available in bigger cities to achieve her title aspirations. She made the three-hour drive south to Frankfurt, where she found Coach Mohamed Ouali and MMA Spirit. Training alongside one of Bellator’s best, Daniel Weichel, Böhm sprang out to a 5-0 record across German regional competition.
In 2019, She sought out the best competition she could match up against and knew she had to take another step up in training. Mandy felt at home in Ireland training with John Kavanagh Conor McGregor at Straight Blast Gym (SBG Ireland). She utilized everything Mr. McGregor taught her and captured Canada’s top promotion, TKO MMA’s Flyweight title in May 2019.
One more big win on the Bellator stage in late 2020 brought her record to 7-0 and the UFC spotlight started shining down. After a couple of cancellations on the part of her opponents, Böhm is set for her debut against another strong striker. “The Violence Queen” Ariane Lipski (13-7) will stand opposite Mandy on Saturday, September 18. We got two skilled strikers who won’t shy away from a fracas, it’s an intriguing bout and the main card starts at 7 PM ET.
