Erin Blanchfield (7-1) is one of MMA’s most intriguing prospects at Women’s Flyweight. “Cold Blooded” has been slicing through UFC-level competition in Invicta FC and Cage Fury since her pro debut in 2018 at AGE 18. The 22-year-old Black Belt in BJJ is 1-0 and eager to stay undefeated in the octagon at UFC 269.
Blanchfield makes us all feel old, being born in 1999. She was raised and still fights out of Elmwood Park, New Jersey, a borough of about 20,000 only 30 minutes away from New York City. Martial arts came second nature for her as she began training BJJ at 7, competed in kickboxing at 9, and at 12 saw Ronda Rousey vs. Meisha Tate and immediately had a new answer for “what do you want to be when you grow up?”
Before transitioning to full-time to MMA, Erin had a decorated BJJ career taking home Eddie Bravo’s first-ever women’s invitational in 2017. From 2017 to 2021, Erin racked up 8 eight wins across pro and amateur to one close split decision loss to current UFC Flyweight Tracy Cortez.
While competing she also earned a degree in Television and Digital Media from Montclair State University, intent on becoming the next Laura Sanko. Blanchfield loves to bake for her team when she cuts weight, truly unique and psycho stuff from the 125er. The week ahead of UFC 269b will consist of cutting weight and watching her friends eat all the cookies before she faces a tough test in Miranda Maverick (9-3). It’s a battle of top prospects at 125 lbs. and it all goes down Saturday, 12/11, starting at 6 PM ET.
